REDBACKS
MISSION
TO SIGN 100 WAGS
DNL RedBACKS is an
Islington-based women and girls (WAG) football team. We welcome players of ALL ages and ability.
Send an DNL RedBACKS to receive details of season activities and
our next session. DNL-RedBACKS
play and train in the London Borough of Islington and was created on the
back of DYNAMO NORTH LONDON FC (2001-2008).
The RedBACKS aim is to create as many
football-playing opportunities as possible for women and girls at grassroots
level. We believe it is the fundamental right of every
woman and girl (WAG) to play football. To this end we
will NEVER intentionally turn anyone away. We're also
very willing to entertain new ideas on how we can bring the
beautiful game to even more people. We play 5-a-side(indoors),
Futsal and 8-a-side Park Football and are involved in
11-a-side League & Cup football teams throughout
Greater London.
Between May 2009 and April 2010 we are endeavouring to
actively involve 100 women and girls, YES, 100 or more WAGS
in our football antics (we've done 67 so far - check the little
red box in the top left corner to check on our progress). We'll then roll our bandwagon
onwards...who knows where it will take us.

NEW YEAR
CHILL - GAME ON
11 JAN 10 - It's
been a great year. In 2009 we saw 67 players
introduced to our football and we're looking forward to seeing more
this year. Our players play 4/5-a-side Mondays and 8-a-side
Saturdays, plus we also offer the opportunity to
11-a-side too.

We
resume Monday night ROCK-UP & PLAY sessions (just
fill in the form pay your subs and play) on Monday 18 January 2009 and Saturday 8-a-side sessions on Saturday
23 January.

AUTUMN
SEASON IS ON!
01 NOV 09 - Following a
great  summer of football galore, the RedBACKS
Monday session moves indoors. Futsal will now
take place in the Benwell Road gym behind the famous ROCKET
(London Met's
Student Union Bar) Holloway Road N7. With changing
rooms, showers and bar, could RedBACK girls ask
for more? Probably. |

FIVE MAKE DIV ONE
04 AUG 09 - Five RedBACKS
players are poised to step into Greater London Womens
Football League action this September with a
Division One team LEYTON FC. The quintet who impressed during
summer season made the move after being spotted by a
sharp-eyed coach.
A RedBACKS spokeswoman said: "We're pleased
that we're doing something right and that our girls will
get even more football and match playing experience.
"We've not lost them, they'll still represent us in
the games and competitions we enter - so it's
double-bubble for us and them!" |
